We pray for them.
All those we fear, hate
loathe, pity and despise.
Love them
as you have loved us,
then grant us humility.

Your comments sound like ones that Thomas Merton would make. He was the spiritual writer of the mid-twentieth century whose believe in love and compassion inspired millions. Thanks Mark. I have read quite a bit of Merton over the last 15 years. Sign of Jonas was very important during a difficult period in my life.
