Shekinah Glory

Please close the door
it is letting in a draft
along with yesterday’s ghosts.
They stomp across the floor,
rummaging through cabinet drawers,
dripping water onto
soiled and stained dishes,
picking up loose cloths
and throwing them in a hamper.
No prayer or Latin incantation
can release their torment
in knowing that they do not change.

Okay, so I just said this across the livingroom, but I’ll say it here too:

More poetry, please. You have a thousand of them that you’re hording in a trunk like Emily Dickinson. It’s time to spread the love….

This is really beautiful.
