Mist-obscured pastures
buffer roads from
dense Appalachian woods.
Though towering peaks,
with cloudy blankets
inch in the distance
it is these near fields
that rush by blurry,
their milky white wildflowers
and tall brown grass
outstretch from fences
in abstract motion.
