You do not require groveling.
So, I will no longer bow my head
in your holy presence.
I will extend my fingertips
toward the sky,
peering expectantly
and instead of seeing you
formless and void,
an uncreated chaos,
you will peer back
in every passing person
who peers expectantly
at seeing you.

This is a most excellent and wise prayer! Thank-you for sharing.

Tobeme,

I wrote this prayer in response to my daughter’s question, “Why do you look up and around when people are praying?”
