In our disputes may we not sway to the voice telling us to give in too easily,
Nor to the one telling us to fight on long after armaments have left the field.
Help us to be a people with a knowledge that the fight is human
And we must learn to engage each other with unity as one goal.
Some would naively hope there could be an end to all disputing
But they are dangerous in their neutrality and full of denial.
Discipline is the art of the dispute, confrontation and relentless practice.
Without the vouchsafed leading of others challenging us
We will never fulfill our hope in sharpened iron that steels us against life.
